Scope. This Privacy Policy applies to the N78-Machining desktop application (“the App”) for Windows 10 & 11 (64-bit PC, Surface Pro touchscreens, and CNC machine terminals), published by Nivo78 Mobile Apps, LLC (“Nivo78,” “we,” “us”). The App is distributed exclusively through the Microsoft Store.

This Privacy Policy explains how N78-Machining processes and protects information. Because N78-Machining is built as a precision shop tool and engineering calculation utility, we adhere to a strict local-first, zero-telemetry architectural standard designed for aerospace, defense, and high-precision commercial machine shops. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. The Job of the Application

N78-Machining provides deterministic engineering calculations, cutting physics modeling (spindle RPM, surface speed, table feed, cutting force, torque, power, chip thinning, tool shank deflection), ASME Y14.5 GD&T true position bonus solvers, ASTM E140 hardness conversions, thread and tap drill tables, multi-dialect CNC canned cycle generators, and local shop setup sheet traveler exports.

2. Information the Application Processes (Data Catalog)

The App processes information entered by the operator and stores it strictly in local application memory and on-disk encrypted storage:

• Tooling Crib Inventories: Tool identifiers, tool types (end mills, face mills, drills, taps, reamers, thread mills), physical dimensions (diameter, flute length, overall length, stickout, flute count, helix angle, corner radius), tool coatings (TiN, TiAlN, AlTiN, DLC, CrN, uncoated), substrate materials (solid carbide, cobalt, HSS, cermet, ceramic, PCD), and tool holder types (ER collet, side lock, shrink fit, hydraulic chuck).
• Machine Profiles & Kinematic Limits: Machine names, machine types (vertical mill, horizontal mill, 5-axis, lathe), maximum spindle RPM, spindle power/torque curves, axis travels (X, Y, Z), and preferred CNC controller dialect settings (Haas, Fanuc ISO, Mazak ISO, Siemens/Heidenhain ISO, Mach4/LinuxCNC).
• Material Presets & Custom Alloys: Material names, hardness values (HRC, HBW, HRB, HV), tensile strengths, specific cutting force unit power constants (\(k_c\)), thermal ratings, and recommended baseline surface cutting speeds (\(V_c\)).
• Shop Jobs & Setup Travelers: Job numbers, customer reference tags, part names, fixture notes, Work Coordinate System datums (G54 through G59), tool assignments, and coolant delivery requirements (flood, mist, thru-spindle high pressure, air blast).
• Calculation Inputs & Generated G-Code: Cutting depths (axial \(a_p\), radial \(a_e\)), feed per tooth (\(f_z\)), bolt hole circle coordinates (PCD), and compiled G-code canned cycle snippets.
• Local Cut Knowledge Base & Proven Cuts: Operator-saved proven cut recipes, machine-limit context, and shop-local cutting notes stored in the encrypted vault (not uploaded to Nivo78).
• Tool Catalog Import (User-Selected Files): When you explicitly choose a vendor tool-catalog file on disk, the App parses it locally to populate or update tool crib entries. Import files are read only from paths you select; contents are not transmitted to Nivo78.
• Station Identity & Licensing State: Microsoft Store In-App Purchase license entitlement status, station slot identity (Slots 1–5 on Multi-Station suites), station nicknames, and local legal disclaimer acceptance audit timestamps (including Terms disclosure version, e.g. 1.1).

No Secret Parts or Drawings Uploaded: All of the above records remain on your local device. None of this data is transmitted, synchronized, or copied to Nivo78 or third-party servers.

3. Local Storage, Encryption & Security Keys

• SQLCipher AES-256 Encryption: Your shop vault database (machining_vault.db) is stored in your private user profile directory (%USERPROFILE%\Documents\N78-Machining\) and is encrypted at rest using 256-bit AES cipher suites with PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 key derivation (250,000 iterations).
• Master Passcode & Emergency Recovery Key: Access to protected shop records is governed by your locally configured Master Passcode. When you initialize a protected vault, an offline 16-character Master Recovery Key (e.g. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) is generated for emergency recovery.
• Zero Remote Decryption Capability: Because N78-Machining is 100% local-first with zero remote server accounts, Nivo78 holds zero decryption keys and has zero technical capability to decrypt your records, reset your passcode, or recover lost data. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your passcode and recovery key.

4. Operating System Permissions & Windows Capabilities

N78-Machining requests only minimal, transparent system access necessary for professional desktop operation:

• File System Storage & Pickers: The App uses standard Windows system file picker dialogs when you explicitly choose to export 8.5×11" PDF setup sheet travelers, save encrypted or JSON vault backups (Ctrl+B), restore shop backups (Ctrl+Shift+R), or save anonymous diagnostic reports to local disks or removable USB drives. The App does not perform broad, background file scanning of your computer.
• System Clipboard: When you click “Copy G-Code Block”, “Copy Hardness Table”, “Copy Coordinates”, or “Copy to Clipboard”, the App writes that plaintext snippet to your Windows clipboard. Sealed vault passwords and recovery keys are never displayed in plaintext after initial creation and are automatically purged from the clipboard after brief exposure.
• Default Web Browser Handoff: When you click external links (such as viewing the online Support Center, Microsoft Store PDP, or this Privacy Policy), the App instructs Windows to open the URL in your default web browser.
• Network (Internet): Network connectivity is used solely by the Windows OS for Microsoft Store In-App Purchase license acquisition/validation and when you initiate email client handoffs. Zero internet connection is required for routine cutting calculations, tool crib management, or G-code generation.

Proactive Negative Disclosures (What We Never Access):

• ❌ Zero Location Access: The App does not request, track, or use GPS or device location.
• ❌ Zero Camera or Microphone Access: The App contains zero audio or video recording capabilities.
• ❌ Zero Contacts Access: The App does not read your address book or personal contacts.
• ❌ Zero Windows Advertising ID: The App does not read, request, or declare the Windows Advertising ID (MS-AD-ID).

5. Microsoft Store Billing & In-App Purchases

All commercial upgrades—including the Solo Perpetual License ($79.99) and the 5-Station Shop Floor Suite ($279.99)—are processed exclusively through the Microsoft Store In-App Purchase (IAP) platform.

Payment processing, card authorization, and store billing are governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Nivo78 Mobile Apps, LLC never receives, handles, or stores your credit card number, debit card number, bank credentials, or billing address.

6. Voluntary Feedback & Non-Personal Diagnostic Reporting

Customer feedback, bug reports, and feature requests are completely voluntary and user-initiated via the in-app 💬 Feedback tool (Ctrl+Shift+F). We provide two distinct dispatch pathways to accommodate both connected offices and air-gapped defense shops:

• Option A: 🏢 Commercial & Connected Workstations (1-Click Direct Email): For standard connected PCs, the App opens your default email client (or Gmail in browser) with a pre-filled draft addressed to support@nivo78.com. You can review the draft and click Send.
• Option B: 🛡️ ITAR & Defense Air-Gapped Consoles (Offline USB Transfer): For air-gapped CNC machines, defense contractors, and secure LANs, clicking Save Report (.txt) saves an anonymous, human-readable text file to a USB thumb drive for inspection before taking it to an authorized computer.
• Zero Personal Data Guarantee: Optional diagnostic blocks contain only environment and session metadata—for example: app and Terms version, license tier and evaluation status, Windows/Java build info, display DPI and monitor topology, active UI tab, skill mode, vault item counts (not names), backup folder accessibility status, JVM memory and GC summaries, and anonymized recent error summaries. A calculation context line may describe the active module in generic terms (e.g., Milling: 0.500" End Mill, 3,200 RPM, 4140 Steel) without customer identifiers. Diagnostics contain ZERO customer names, ZERO CAD geometry, ZERO part drawings, ZERO IP addresses, and ZERO personal file paths. Your free-text feedback message is included only when you choose to send email; Option B saves a file you control.

7. Zero Third-Party Advertising, Tracking, or Data Selling

• No Third-Party Analytics SDKs: We do not bundle Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Segment, Flurry, or any external analytics SDKs.
• No In-App Advertisements: N78-Machining contains zero banner ads, interstitial ads, video ads, or behavioral ad networks.
• We Do Not Sell Your Data: Nivo78 Mobile Apps, LLC does not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information, manufacturing parameters, or part recipes to data brokers, advertising networks, or third parties under any circumstances.

8. Data Retention, User Custody & Deletion Rights

• On-Device Retention: Data you create remains on your PC as long as you choose to keep it.
• Granular Deletion: You can edit or delete individual tools, machine profiles, materials, or jobs at any time directly in the application interface.
• Factory Reset: The App provides a built-in Factory Reset function (with explicit confirmation and Master Passcode authentication) that wipes custom vault entries and restores default shop starter presets.
• Application Uninstall: Uninstalling N78-Machining through Windows Settings or Control Panel completely removes the application executable and binaries. Local encrypted database files stored in Documents\N78-Machining can be manually deleted at your discretion.
• Support Email Deletion Requests: If you have emailed technical support or submitted voluntary feedback and wish to have that correspondence deleted from our support email inbox, contact us at support@nivo78.com. We will promptly purge your message history from our customer support records in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and applicable global privacy regulations.

9. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

N78-Machining is a specialized engineering calculation tool intended strictly for adult machinists, toolmakers, CNC programmers, manufacturing engineers, and trade students. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children.

10. Legal Disclaimer & Operator Responsibility Gate on Device

On initial application startup, N78-Machining displays the mandatory Legal & Safety Disclaimer Gate. Acceptance of the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Operator Responsibility standard is recorded locally on the device (terms disclosure version, audit timestamp, and affirmation flag) in encrypted preferences. This record is stored on your device and is never uploaded to Nivo78 servers. Material updates to safety or legal disclosures will re-prompt the operator on next startup.

Limitation of liability: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NIVO78 MOBILE APPS, LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. LIABILITY CAP: IN NO EVENT WILL NIVO78 MOBILE APPS, LLC’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE APP OR THESE LEGAL TERMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (USD $50.00).

Governing law: These legal terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Venue: Any dispute arising out of or relating to the App or these legal terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Smith County, Texas, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Severability: If any provision is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire agreement (merger): The Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Operator Responsibility Disclaimer (each as published for this product on N78-Public-Legal) constitute the entire agreement between you and Nivo78 Mobile Apps, LLC regarding the App and supersede prior or contemporaneous understandings on that subject, except for additional terms imposed by the applicable app store or platform.

You remain solely responsible for legal compliance, tax filings, regulatory obligations, and professional decisions.
